On Saturday June 18th, 5 NEMS members participated in the Patriot Half Iron and had an incredible day. Despite a cloudy start the weather turned out great and the organizers did an excellent job of creating a fun race and providing plenty of support along the way in what turned out to be a very hot day.

Nate Thomas, Colin Cook, Andrew Levine, Chad Quinlan and Glen Lord all competed in the race and represented the club well with some great results.

Nate took first place in the men’s 30-34 age group and 10th overall despite a painful fall off the bike and subsequent penalty.  Even with the penalty, he finished the race in 4:33. Amazing job Nate!  NEMS President Colin Cook also had a great day coming in 2nd in his AG and 13th overall with a time of 4:40. Andrew Levine was not far behind, coming in 5th in his AG and managed to crack 5 hours in his first ever half iron with a total time of 4:59!  Chad Quinlan was also competing in his first half iron and had a solid time of 5:16, placing 15/34 in the 30-34 AG and 74th overall.  Glen Lord has a strong showing as well coming in at 46/72 in his age group with a total time of 6:22 in his first race of this distance.

Congrats to our athletes on a great race.
