Quassy 2013 was a Sweatfest

This year’s REV3 Quassy Olympic Triathlon can be summed up in three words: hot, hilly, & hot. You’ll notice “hot” in there twice—and with good reason. Race day temperatures topped out in the mid 90s, and there was plenty of humidity to go around. Combine this with bike and run courses known for their challenging hills, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a good old-fashioned sweatfest.

Despite the less-than-ideal conditions, NEMS showed up in force and powered through the heat. The fastest performance of the day went to Colin Cook, who finished 5th overall and took home 1st in his age group. The gutsiest performance, however, goes to Lucas Pozzetta, who crashed his bike coming into T2, hopped right up, and finished the race with some nasty road rash and a huge hole in his tri suit.
